TurboTag™ RFID Loggers

The Smart Card Logger and Shelf Life Monitor

Global Sensors introduces the TurboTag™
a breakthrough in modern technology.

TurboTag™ is a new “smart card” temperature logger that is also an RFID tag. It does everything that a normal temperature logger can do, but also functions as a supply chain tracking tool. Anything you can do with an RFID tag, TurboTag™ does it too.

TurboTag™ can be used in transit temperature monitoring, in-plant monitoring or for package or pallet-level monitoring.

Although it is a temperature logger, it has some important advantages:

(1) It costs less than almost any logger, and is more accurate

(2) It is lighter in weight and size (about the size and weight of two stacked credit cards) , so it is cost-effective for shipping and storage

(3) You can do remote, high speed reading of the complete temperature record

(4) It computes product shelf life and allows "shelf life remaining" to be used as an alarm criterion

(5) Available in Pharmaceutical Grade (Validated and works with 21 CFR Part 11 Software - Digital Signature and Audit Trail)

The easiest way to experience TurboTag™ is to order a trial kit or a starting quantity of tags and a reader.  You can order directly from our website:

Transit Temperature Monitoring with TurboTag™

TurboTag™ is specifically designed for transit monitoring. Most traditional logger devices take 2,000 readings or more. Experience has shown that for almost every application, there is no need for that much information. In fact, if logging intervals of less than ˝ hour are observed, they are pretty much meaningless, as transient changes on that scale do not occur in temperature sensitive products. TurboTag™ takes up to 702 readings, which represents ˝ hour intervals for two weeks. This covers the vast majority of transit applications. Even if the transit is longer, monitoring can be set to 1 hour intervals. This will cover an entire month with very realistic and useable resolution.

Transit monitoring systems often work to recycle logging devices. TurboTag™ employs a patented system for return and recycling of tags. The tag is placed inside of the waterproof pouch-envelope and adhered to a container or pallet in a load. At the end of the recording episode, the pouch-envelope can be easily separated from the attachment surface by the serrated separation line. It remains as a closed, pre-addressed pre-paid postal return mailer with the tag inside. The tag does not need to be removed for reading (it remains inside the pouch-envelope). Individual tags can be dropped in the mail for return.

Bulk return is often used in transit applications. In such cases, personnel gather tags at monitoring destinations and return packages of larger numbers of tags in a carton. TurboTag™ is especially cost-effective for this method, as the weight and cubic volume of the tag is less than 25% by weight or volume when compared to the smallest regular temperature logger now in use.

Please call us to learn more about recycling options: 1-866-402-8282 or 1-704-827-4331.  TempTrip™ Single Use programs are described at www.resultsorientedinc.com.

Read and Print Remotely
TurboTag™ can be read by our unique QC-1 Reader.  Each tag can be read in about a second.  The QC-1 is battery-powered and can be carried to the tag reading location.  QC-1 holds up to 100 tag records. These can be later downloaded to a PC computer for analysis or archiving.

Users can scroll through all tags downloaded to the QC-1 and view alarms, averages, start times, etc. for each stored tag.

Printing
Data records that have been captured by the QC-1 can be later printed by the MP-1 portable printer:

This printer is the same one used by rental car agencies at checkout.  Just point the QC-1 at the printer and press SEND to beam the data at the printer.  The chart will print out in seconds.

The Printed Chart

TurboTag™ charts look like a regular charts, but have maximum and minimum alarm levels printed on the chart, and also print out a complete summary:
  • Max & Min Alarms
  • Time over Maximum
  • Time under Minimum
  • Average Temp (MKT)
  • Start Time
  • Full Graph
  • Unique Session ID

Actual chart is shown here at reduced image size: the chart is 2" wide and 10" long.
