The first challenge in the engineering of a very low temperature instrument is to select a battery that will perform under those conditions.  Our Dry Ice model "probe-less" incorporates a special battery that has been tested even below our stated range. 

In addition, most sensors have a more limited range over which the calibration data can be trusted.  We take high quality sensors and qualify them for extreme low temperature performance.  Other loggers claiming to cover the dry ice range simply cannot perform well in terms of sensor accuracy, since they use "assumed" calibration curve functions that are "extrapolated down".  Get the LogTag Dry Ice logger if you need to depend on the data.

Dry Ice Temperature Loggers
 TRIL-8 imageNow the reliable and accurate LogTag formula works at Dry Ice temperatures.  Many applications for the storage and shipment of products require extreme low temperature.  Maintaining these critical temperatures is always a challenge, and one wants to know if proper temperatures were held.

Like other LogTag models, the Dry Ice models excel at performance.  Temperature accuracy is unmatched, providing a "true" ±1.0°C accuracy in the critical recording range.  Most recorders claim this level of performance, but do not hold 100% of their product within those stated limits.  The LogTag Dry Ice logger does.  Its a recording device that with valid performance statistics, and delivers known accuracy as a standard feature.

The unique external sensor of the probe-less model makes the responsiveness of the Dry Ice model better than other temperature loggers.  The thermistor element actually senses temperature outside of the logger case. This permits the capture of more detail in the thermal history of the monitored environment.

The same advantage applies to the external probe model.  The probe can be inserted in a location that would be awkward or impossible with the probe-less unit.  Use this where a specific location needs to be monitored.

Like all LogTag units, simple controls on the face of the logger allow the user to start logging or mark the record during a recording episode (to signal a specific event or time point).

All external probe models use a unique type of remote temperature probe.  They are not interchangeable with other types of LogTag remote probes, and are uniquely identified by the green sleeve color on the sensor’s plug.
