The Infrared-LC is a cost effective infrared thermometer unit that incorporates selectable emissivity. This unit is a solid performer in a variety of applications.  Adjustable emissivity means that this unit can be used with a broader range of targets, including heat producing machinery, HVAC equipment, ovens, as well as the regular range of food product applications, especially deep frozen foods. 

Like much more expensive models, the Infrared-LC has laser sighting.  The targeting is a 10:1 ratio cone, giving very precise targeting with the single dot laser target indication.

Food Inspector FI-40L

The FI-40L is the new standard for professional temperature measurement in perishable warehouses, distribution centers and food service businesses, where it is used to conduct rapid surveys of both refrigeration and cooking temperatures. 

It is a very accurate unit, and is simple in operation with a minimum of buttons to push--just aim and read. It has the narrowest beam (16:1) of any commercial unit now in use (except for our AQA 1721) in the food industry.  This allows reading at greater distances.  Its rapid compensation time (7 seconds maximum) allows quicker transition from cooking/steam table measurements to refrigeration measurements.

This is an excellent choice for a commercial kitchen or food processing plant where hot liquids need checking. Calibrated specifically for use in food safety and quality usage with 0.97 Fixed Emissivity (perfect for food applications).

Most of us are familiar with the standard "gun" style IR thermometers.  Some manufacturers have from time to time brought out smaller inexpensive IR units designed for pocket storage, but most of these have been pretty inaccurate or have not been sufficiently durable for daily use.

Here is a breakthrough that the food industry has been waiting for.  Most managers appreciate the speed and efficiency of non-contact temperature surveillance using IR thermometers, but realize that cross calibration is necessary for reliable data. 

IR thermometers take only the "skin" temperature, but that temperature always has a predicable relationship with the core temperature.  To get good calibration on an IR survey, you have to take along a digital thermometer with a penetration probe and "cross index" the probe data with the IR scan data.  It can be really cumbersome and time consuming.

Now you can do both within one instrument...the ThermaTwin is a combined laser sighted IR thermometer and high accuracy thermocouple thermometer.  Both tools are in one package.

Dual Range Pocket IR / Probe Thermometer  

Our newest IR thermometer is a very high quality, dual-purpose IR / probe instrument designed for close inspection for food safety and food processing survey work.  The case is a rugged, completely sealed waterproof case (IP65 rated) of unique small size.

Probe folds neatly on the back side of the unit.  Probe is 5 inches (127 mm) long.  IR measurements are made by holding the face of the unit upright and directly facing the operator - when the Scan button is kept depressed, a bright white LED beam illuminates the target area.  For best accuracy, the reading distance should be kept at about 6-8 inches (150-200 mm). 
The IR reads from the reverse side  of the unit, not the end (as in typical IR units).  This allows easy visibility of the LCD screen and alarm indicators (HACCP refrigeration temperatures, hold temperatures, cook temperatures). Hold Scan button down to continue to monitor, when released, the temperature is held. 

Press Probe button to activate probe and measure temperature.  When the Probe button is pressed again, the temperature is held.

Note that the long handle and probe permit measurements over hot cooking vessels.  From this position, an IR reading can be simultaneously obtained due to IR "out of the bottom of the unit".

We have tested several of these combo IR and integral probe units.  This is the most accurate and rugged of the group, and the manufacturer stands behind the product with excellent warranty performance.  This unit is a bit more robust than the Dual Range Pocket IR (above) and has a few more good features.  It is also NSF certified for use in regulated programs.

The Platinum RTD probe is very stable and will not need periodic recalibration.  The case is IP65 which makes cleaning an easy job...just clean in detergent and hot water with no instrument damage.

AQA 1515 Food Unit with Upward Display

This is the instrument that you have been waiting for if you have to take a lot of temperature measurements in open cases, cooking situations, etc. with a limited amount of time.
